Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American producer stage and screen actress who is best known for her film roles in Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University in African-American Studies. In the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she obtained an MFA. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is an actor, producer and American actress active in theatre as well as television and film. She started her career acting in the theatre and then went on to appear in many television shows, both mainstream and independent films. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she received critical acclaim and various nominations and awards including the Television Critics Choice Award for the best Actress. In 1995, she was the first actress to make her debut on stage in The Tempest as Ariel. On Broadway, she has appeared on stage in Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Seeking the Genesis and Joe Turner's Come and Gone. The most recognizable part of her career is her roles in the films Men of Honor as well as The Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. In the world of television, her character on ABC's drama about police High Incident is well known.
