Formerly a top fashion model, almost 5'10'' tall, Carey was an a fan favorite of the top American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was a prominent geologist and awarded the title of Scientist from 1979 by Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. As a result of his career Carey has been raised across the globe. While in college, she began to model part-time and attracted the attention to Ford model Agency representatives in New York. After moving to France and briefly was a resident in Paris, Bordeaux and New York and then New York, she made the decision to go back in New York and continue her education. In the next few months, Vogue, Glamour and other magazines included her on the covers. Between modeling gigs, she was a full time student obtaining a major in literary studies at New York University. As she studied acting in the Neighborhood Playhouse, New York, her enthusiasm for the field grew. She made her acting debut with a small part in the film 'Club Paradise which aired in 1986 alongside Robin Williams. She enjoys rock climbing as well as skiing and windsurfing.
