tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27 in 1976. He grew up in the southern part of California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School, where he was an outstanding athlete on both the football and basketball teams. Gonzalez continued to excel in both sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He played a key role in leading the team's football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, he set a school record for receiving nine receptions and beat it. In the following months, Gonzalez was the team's basketball coach to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. After graduating from highschool in 1997, he was selected for the NFL Draft. The Kansas City Chiefs chose Gonzalez as their number thirteen overall. Gonzalez was a player for the Chiefs from 1997 to 2008. Then, he was traded to the Atlanta Falcons. He never caught fewer than 59 passes during Gonzalez's second NFL season.
